The Sicilian Cultural Association of St. Louis held their inaugural meeting in April 1993 with only 18 members. We presently have over 100 members.   Our accomplishments include: honoring of internationally-known dignitaries from Sicily, holding an annual Carnevale festival that attracts over 300 guests. We are proud to be the only Italian organization with a youth association that brings hope for the perpetuation of our traditions.   A dance group has been established that is called Gruppo Folcloristico Siciliano (Sicilian Folk Group).   They appear at functions like the International Folkfest, the Muny Opera, Children's Museum and various banquets in authentic Sicilian costumes performing tradtional dances and songs.   Currently, a group of little children in the primary grades is being trained to further insure the continuity of our traditions.
